The German Shepard is a large muscular dog and was primarily used for hearding and police/military use. It's also been used as a rescue and search dog and it a popular dog breed in the US.

The German Shepard can grow to a height of about 26 inches and weight anywhere from 60 to even 140 pounds. The German Shepard is smart and highly trainable. It gets along great with children and other animals.
