Pet Insurance Is The New Employee Benefit

Companies are starting to learn that some perks that used to work to lure employees to their company are starting to lose their luster as more companies are offering the same thing. So what's something different that they can offer that is attractive to the new millennial workers? How about taking care of something dear to them...their pets. As company match each other in traditional perks, some companies are finding out that by offering pet insurance (along with regular insurance ofcourse), it's attracting attention from the new workforce.

So why this sudden change in perks? Most millennials are putting off having children and are filling the void by having pets instead (editor note: it's true..we got a dog first before having kids). Not only in the workplace is this a growing trend, but pet insurance is one of the fastest growing non-traditional employee benefits. When 1 out of 3 Fortune 500 companies are offering this benefit, other companies will soon follow.
